Healthy Culture

Culture is like the grain in wood. You can’t eliminate it, you work with it. Culture is the personality of an organization, grounded in values, habits and traditions that creates the operating system for how things work. Every culture is unique and every component of the organization impacts the culture.

Culture change, whether incremental or major, is no time for a subtle approach. Many companies list vague and ignored value statements. Far fewer describe what is special about their core values and build that into everyday practices. It requires letting go of old behaviors, consistent compelling communication, alignment of rewards, training and new processes. It takes unwavering commitment but the results are dramatic and pervasive.
